Amsterdam Pride 2014
Amsterdam Pride, Amsterdam Gay Pride or Pride Amsterdam is a citywide queer-festival held annually at the centre of Amsterdam during the first weekend of August. The festival attracts several hundred-thousand visitors each year and is one of the largest publicly held annual events in the Netherlands.
Conchita Wurst visited the Amsterdam Pride for the first time in 2014 and since then is deeply in love with this event. Since 2016 she is official international ambassador of Pride Amsterdam. Her motto: "“Be yourself. Embrace yourself. Truly love yourself.”
In 2014, she attended the Canal Parade as a guest of Gay Care Amsterdam and also performed at the annual Pride Cocktail at Sofitel Legend The Grand Amsterdam. At the official closing concert on 3 August 2014 at Rembrandtplein she performed as "reigning queen" among other winners of the Eurovision Song Contest.
