Amsterdam Pride 2016

Amsterdam Pride, Amsterdam Gay Pride or Pride Amsterdam is a citywide queer-festival held annually at the centre of Amsterdam during the first weekend of August. The festival attracts several hundred-thousand visitors each year and is one of the largest publicly held annual events in the Netherlands.

Conchita Wurst visited the Amsterdam Pride for the first time in 2014 and since then is deeply in love with this event. Since 2016 she is official international ambassador of Pride Amsterdam. Her motto: "“Be yourself. Embrace yourself. Truly love yourself.”

In 2016, after 22 years, EuroPride was back in Amsterdam. From 23 July to 7 August 2016 many events took place as part of the Amsterdam Gay Pride. As the event's official ambassador, Conchita Wurst was photographed by the design agency VBAT and photographer Philippe Vogelenzang for the official EuroPride magazine. The photo shoot for this took place on 9 April 2016 in Amsterdam.

During her time in Amsterdam, she joined the Human Rights Concert on 24 July 2016 on Dam Square as well as several other Pride events including of course the Canal Parade.
