Austrian national broadcaster ORF selected Conchita Wurst to represent Austria at the Eurovision Song Contest 2014 in Copenhagen, Denmark. If you don’t know anything about Eurovision yet … well, it’s big.

Really, really big.

And the contest itself is a huge production with a series of events as rehearsals, press conferences, live concerts etc. And of course there are the three live shows on television: the first and the second semi-finals and the grand final.

At the second semi-final on 8 May 2014 Conchita Wurst qualified for the final. At the finals held in Copenhagen on 10 May 2014, she won the competition with her song ‘Rise Like A Phoenix’. This was Austria’s first Eurovision victory since 1966.
