Fête de la musique 2014

The Fête de la Musique, also known in English as Music Day, Make Music Day, or World Music Day, is an annual music celebration that takes place on 21 June. The first all-day musical celebration on the day of the summer solstice was originated in France in 1982, and it is still a huge annual occasion.

In 2014, state broadcaster France 2 organised a huge concert in Montpellier, which also featured some Eurovision stars. It was a huge success with an average of three million viewers tuning in and around 20,000 people gathered in Montpellier’s Place de la Comédie for a gigantic show. The biggest star of the night was Conchita Wurst who gave her first live performance in France.
