Stonewall 50 - WorldPride NYC 2019

Conchita Wurst was invited to Stonewall 50 – WorldPride NYC 2019, a series of LGBTQ events, marking the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall riots.

WorldPride in general is an event that promotes lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer issues on an international level through parades, festivals and other cultural activities. WorldPride celebrations tend to be the largest LGBTQ Pride events for their year, the celebration in 2019 in New York  was the largest LGBTQ event in history, with an official estimate of five million attending Pride weekend in Manhattan alone.

The Stonewall 50 – WorldPride events were held throughout June, which is traditionally Pride month in New York City and worldwide. They commemorated the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall uprising.  The theme for the celebrations and educational events was “Millions of Moments of Pride”.

Conchita Wurst: “Celebrating Stonewall 50 where it all began, a NY debut performance at Pier 17 and meeting so many fabulous people, sure made this trip an unforgettably amazing memory.”
